Abdul Hameed was born on April 29, 1928. He was a renowned Urdu fiction writer from Pakistan, having authored over 200 Urdu books. Hameed completed his secondary education in Amritsar, India, and later migrated to Pakistan following the partition of the subcontinent. He began his career at Radio Pakistan as a script editor and, after several years, joined Voice of America. Among his most famous works are Urdu Sheer Ki Dastan, Urdu Nasar Ki Dastan, Mirza Ghalib, Dastango Ashfaq Ahmed, and Mirza Ghalib Lahore Mein. Additionally, he wrote the script for the popular TV drama Ainak Wala Jin. Abdul Hameed passed away on April 29, 2011, at the age of 83. His Urdu books and novels continue to be highly regarded by readers.
